hello everyone Welcome to our kindergarten kindergarten concert uh the Barnyard Boogie we are so excited to see the huge turnout um in pills are very excited behind the curtain um we are um thrilled to share the hard work and dedication of our students with you tonight hello everyone my name is Mary Reid um I would like to thank everyone who helped out with this concert so um our admin is backstage um our teachers are all here and they have been so supportive um this year we we decided to change how we did concerts and we made videos for every class so that they could practice during breakfast during dismissal and they have all used them so many times it's amazing um I keep having kindergartners walk up to me and say oh my gosh you are my TV and it's amazing because I don't even know them so it's great so thank you so much teachers for taking your time and really learning those songs with the kids we appreciate it hi my name is Patty Gordon and I am doing housekeeping details would you please silence your cell phones and notice the exits in case we need them we are recording this concert it will be posted on the RSU website so you can relax and be fully present and watch and listen without having to watch it through your phone and my name is and I'm a student teacher here from USM we would like to thank you all again so much and for everyone helping out of for being here and enjoy the performance of all your food Welcome to our kindergarten concert at winda primary school I am Mrs Wright these talented students receive music instruction once a week the standards we cover in our weekly music classes are the Maine learning results for the Performing Arts these include listening to and responding to music making connections between music and other art forms performing a ride wide range of Music expressing musical ideas using musical language creating and composing music and using music as a way to collaborate tonight concert offers a glimpse into our classroom activities you'll see elements of our typical weekly routine like simple songs echo songs moving to music finger plays and literacy connections while many aspects of what we do in music class are hard to Showcase in a concert like the process of creating and composing music I wanted to share this context with you as you listen to the performances I hope you'll appreciate the wide range of educational skills and standards that we focus on every day in music class first we're going to start with a book The Barnyard Dance by Sandra bun everybody ready for the party stop your fish bow to the horse bow to the cows tomorrow with the pig if you know how bound with the bunny strap with the duck spin with the chicken now clap clap clap and the move and a coffee 2 Prince with the horses here with the mice swing with your partner once stand with the donkeys live with the Sheep Scramble with a little chick cheap cheap cheap cheap and I moved in I called the noodle do another little drop and I 2 by 2 with you leave with the Frog take another spin with the Barnyard dawg turn with the cow in a patch of clover all take about and the dance is over with oink and moo and a quiet the answers done but we will be back that we're going to do that on the I'm calling you back all day 6 get it quiet oh yeah quiet all right so the next animal we're going to visit on the farm is the chicken so this is listen to the hens are you guys ready so when we're in kindergarten and first grade it's really important to um incorporate moving and um creativity into our music class so what we do is we do finger plays so all the kids oh all the kids uh we even teach them a movement that goes along with the song or um we have them create their own movements and it's really important to have them fast movements ago how slow movements go um motor skills and help with lots and lots of different things to help them develop so here is what's next we're going to do it now ready ready go all right so the next 1 we have um is the chicken back I'm sure many of you know the chicken man all right so kindergarteners oh if you can hear me put your hands on the head see if you can hear me put your hands on your shoulders okay are you ready let's do it oh yeah so next we're going to visit the cows all right well this is listen to this okay it feels ready okay ready go so um our next song is the milk bucket booking which which you like a lot all right um can you guys show me that you're right okay so they get to make up their own movement during this month so wash very carefully put are fancy hey everyone this is down down and now we have visited all of the animals r r and so we're going to finish by saying about all of them I wow kindergarten that was amazing what amazing please
